What I did

Today I peer reviewed two students and their progress on project 2: interrogate an interface. Both students had made great progress on their projects and I look forward to seeing their presentations. After I did my peer review, I continued to work on my project. My work from last class was deleted somehow so I had to catch up. I was able to complete most of the outline for my project. This will make it much easier to make a presentation and the final posts on my blog.

Why I did it

I did this because I had to catch up and make progress on my blog and interrogating an interface. I lost my previous work, but I have made great progress and I will good when it comes time for my presentation.

What I still need to do

The biggest thing I still need to do is create my presentation. I want to make my presentation with many visuals and a limited number of words. I need to post my comments and everything to my blog as well. This will take some time, but it will get done.

What I did

I haven’t done any work on my presentation since my last blog post.

Why I did(n’t do) it

I have no excuses, I don’t
I could but I won’t

What I still need to do

So much! I need to finish my PowerPoint (and finish addressing all the various points of inquiry about the interface) and I need to start and finish my web essay. Kind of general, but I feel I have a good start, so I’m excited to finish.

It’s always nice to return to class and actually get stuff done.

What I Did

I had my in-progress project peer reviewed today. While there wasn’t much for anyone to see, it was nice just to have it up, and, well, seen. Also, I finally posted all the pages. Even though two of them are completely empty, they’re UP. And that is quite an accomplishment. It isn’t really, but I’d like to think it is. I also added pictures to the from page of the project, yay. I really like screen shots. They’re just so useful.

Why I Did It

I’m really just filling in blanks here. Things happen because they need to.

What I Still Have To Do

Lots. So much. Gosh. Almost an entire presentation, the majority of a web essay. What else? Everything….

I’m a little over-dramatic today. I must just be so happy to be back in class.

What I Did

I spent last night working on my web essay. I discussed my initial thoughts about the site, getting started on a project,and adding data. I added screenshots of the site throughout.

Why I Did It

I spent all of my class time (and about an hour outside of class) working on my infogram project, so I hadn’t had any time to even start my web essay or presentation. I wanted to give a walk through of the design process with the site and then add separate pages for affordances and constraints, but my blog isn’t letting me add the subpages, so we’ll see. I added screenshots for clarity.

What I Still Need to Do

Obviously, I still need to build a presentation. I also need to finish my overview and give my affordances and constraints in my web essay. I also need to figure out why my wordpress won’t let me add secondary pages, because that’s a huge problem. Finally, I want to add a link to the document I created with infogram, but the code for it that I got from the site is not working for some reason.

What I Did

Today I looked over different presentations from the class. It was great getting insight into how everyone if formatting and designing there project.

Why I Did It

I commented on other classmates’ presentation links in order for them to help improve their design methods and the information presented.

What I Still Need To Do

I still need to make this presentation more personal. I need to add in the modes of communication it uses, evaluate the rhetorical situation, and the affordances and constraints.

What I did…

Because I felt behind on Monday, I immediately went and began busting out my essay and PowerPoint in a Google Doc. I finished the essay minus photos and just have to import it into WordPress. Today Sarah helped me make a new menu for my interrogation, however, it is hard to navigate so I will be looking at it more.

Why I did it…

Well I was panicking on Monday so I thought it would be best to make myself feel better and sit down and work on this project. I do feel a ton better about it now. I decided to add a menu to more easily navigate through the project but the theme of my site isn’t exactly working with it. I don’t want to change my theme but I want the menu to be easily accessible, so more on that later.

What I still need to do…

I need to import everything into WordPress and add photos to it. I have the screenshots on my computer I just need to put them on this site and set up the menu so everything is together. I also need to finalize my presentation and then I will be completely done with this.

What I Did

I created a rough outline of what I want my project to look like. I went through my resource and jotted down notes of things I noticed, liked, disliked, or found interesting. I also captured screenshots during this process of features I noted.

Why I Did It

I did this to begin my project–I know a lot of information needs to be included, which I still need to do, but this feels like a good starting place. It helped me realize what I am still missing.

What I Still Need to Do

To do list:

• Include my own creation of a Piktochart
• Include modes of communications
• Include analysis of design
• Make separate sections for all these notes
• Create presentation

There is still a lot to do, but I am content with my foundation for now.
