Today I continued to add blog posts to my site, and began to work on the copy that I will include in the posts. I’m going through the book and picking out quotes and dialogue that I will use to supplement my own writing. The next step will be to create the images for each post, which I plan on doing in InDesign or Photoshop.

Today in class I looked at my two timelines to see what options I had for showing them. With the free subscription, my options are limited. I can print the timelines, convert them to a CSV format (what’s that?), or change it to a PDF if I download a “Paparazzi” application. I think my best bet would be to just copy and paste the timeline links and put it into a Google Drive document for my presentation. Hopefully on Wednesday my classmates will provide me with some much-needed inspiration! I will also relate some key similarities to the cases such as why they were acquitted and if the system has really changed from the late 1890′s to today.
Here are the links to my timeline!

Project #3 Update
by Zack •
What I did
Today I continued working on my project and determining if I am going to use iMovie or screen shots. I wash’t really sure what to use because there are some major constraints I have when I try to use iMovie. The other aspect of my project I was able to complete was finding where to get my videos for my remix. It was difficult at first but I decided to get them off youtube.
Why I did it
The main reason I wanted to use iMovie over anything else was because it challenged me. For this last reject I wanted to learn something new, I wanted to challenge myself and use a tool that I may not be familiar with. I feel that using iMovie in the long run will be more effective than just photos as well.

11/17/14 – Working on References
by Rebecca Robertson •
What I Did
Today, I worked on revising the body copy of my story. Over the weekend, I was able to do a rough draft on my project, which made me feel a lot better about where I am in the project. Today, I also worked on my references and how to include them. Most of my project is my own work. I wrote the whole story, and a lot of the pictures are ones I took myself. However, I did include some outside images and videos of Frozen and of Tech. I’ve decided to include an additional “chapter” at the end, like an appendix with my sources.
Why I Did It
I decided to include my references in a final chapter because I don’t want the citations to distract from the story, but they’re important to include. I think that this will be a good way to include all the necessary information.

The One With the Sources

What I did…
Today I worked on my Marshall and Lily boards. They are the last boards I need to finish up before I go back and review the pins and their text. I also decided to change my Marshall’s job board to an environmental-friendly board.
Why I did it…
The environment is very important to Marshall and he always dreamed of becoming a lawyer and saving the environment. I wanted to have Lily’s fashion board done because we only have one more class of working on the project and I want to move onto my presentation because I’m not sure how I’m going to do that.
Sources…
I lucked out when it came to sources since Pinterest links the pins back to the source…SCORE!

Project #3 Update – 11/14
by joelyon18 •
What I Did
The basic structure of my project is essentially complete, so now I just have to continue completing parts of the journey until I am finished. Today I completed Bombay, India and Hong Kong, China. I am still deciding how to show the journey jumping back to the other side of the map, while also showing the International Date Line, which is an important element of the story.
Why I Did It
As I said, the outline of my project is finished and now I have to continue completing cities that are part of the journey. I have only a few cities to go before I am complete, but will have figure out a way to show the travel crossing over the International Date Line, which is tough because the map is 2D and ends at the International Date Line. I will most likely edit the path in Prezi so that it simply zooms over to the other side of the map.

The Struggle
by dnokess •
Curating YouTube content has been more difficult than I thought for this project. I want the viewers of my final project to get all the necessary details in the video that are also in the poem. To do that, I need to find clips from MLB broadcasts that are parallel to the poem. Also, to avoid confusing the viewer, I want to keep the broadcasts clips consistent by using the same team. Since my favorite team is the Washington Nationals, I’m planing on using them as the subject of the video. Bryce Harper, an outfielder for the Nationals, resembles Casey from the poem very well in my mind.

The Illustrator Struggle Is Real

What I Did
I spent class today working on my cover image for my magazine in Illustrator. The Lynda videos proved to be fairly useless, but I got stuff done after googling how to do it. I’m almost done with the background, but I still need characters. I’m planning on lots of time in InnovationSpace this weekend and next week.
Why I Did It
I made my cover image since it will be the most complex. I googled out of desperation. I will be in InnovationSpace because I bit off a bit more than I’ll be able to chew in class, but I’m excited to learn a new program.
