Right before break I started to add all my clips into iMovie (you can see this from the selfie I took). I was able to finalize all of the clips I wanted to use by selecting off of youtube. Once I did that, I imported all of them into iMovie. I’ve started to edit and put them together to form my final project but it is still a work in progress. I plan on going to the innovation space this week to continue working on it and finalizing everything before my presentation this Friday.

Why I did it

I knew it was important to finalize everything and what I was going to do before and over break. I did and now I feel good about where my project is and how I am going to complete it. The longest part will be when editing and making sure everything flows together.

Today I made some great progress on my project. After the peer review I was able to finalize my plans for exactly what I was going to do. I started by finding all the clips from Finding Nemo that I wanted to use. I just wen ton youtube and downloaded the clips I needed. I converted them into an mp4 and just imported them from there. I have them in the right order but I need to work on cutting and editing the clips down. I will continue to work on my project over break and have it done and fine tuned before my presentation.

Why I did what I did

So the main reason I waned to stick with the video opposed to still photos was because the video challenged me. I have never used iMovie before and I knew it would be a challenge, but great to learn. I chose these particular clips because they went with the story the best and what most people remember from Finding Nemo. The remix is going to come when I put them in a different order, while adding an alternate ending.

There were some strengths and weaknesses they saw with my idea and how I was going about my project. They loved my idea and how I was going to do it. They thought using iMovie and incorporating Finding Nemo would be great and I could execute it to how I said I was going to. They also liked my idea of mixing the story up and adding an alternate ending.

The part of my project where they felt needed work was in the middle of my video. I told them my overall storyboard and when I was going to include things but they felt if I went away from the story too much then people would lose the concept and I would lose their attention. It would be key for me to stay with what everyone know. Also since I have never used iMovie before that was going to be a bug challenge, they did suggest going to innovation space and working on it there.

After talking with my group they had some great suggestions and also liked where I was headed. They told me to continue what I was doing and go to innovation space if I had any questions or if I wanted to work on the project with people who knew iMovie.

Today I continued working on my project and determining if I am going to use iMovie or screen shots. I wash’t really sure what to use because there are some major constraints I have when I try to use iMovie. The other aspect of my project I was able to complete was finding where to get my videos for my remix. It was difficult at first but I decided to get them off youtube.

Why I did it

The main reason I wanted to use iMovie over anything else was because it challenged me. For this last reject I wanted to learn something new, I wanted to challenge myself and use a tool that I may not be familiar with. I feel that using iMovie in the long run will be more effective than just photos as well.

Today I was able to start working with iMovie and figuring out what I wanted to do and how I was going to do it. I watched some basic “how to” videos on youtube and other sites on how to best use iMovie. I learned a lot in a short amount of time and there are some many things I can use to make my movie the best possible

Why I did it

I have never used iMovie so it was important to learn the basics and ropes of the program before I start my project. I wanted to make sure I knew how to use iMovie confidently before I started just throwing things together in the program.

I am still in the midst of my project and getting everything together. I have selected my video clips that I am going to use. I am in the process of putting them together and making sure the storyline still makes sense. This project is taking a little longer than I had originally expected, but that is because I am so new to video editing.

Why I did what I did

The main reason I want to use video is because I know the great effects it will provide. It will better engage the audience as far as the modes of communication too. I want to continue to use video until I run into any major issues.

Today I worked on finding the youtube clips for my beginning and ending of my video. Finding Nemo is a Disney movie so I wanted to make sure that I had the correct beginning and end. I and still woking on getting everything together so I do not have a rough draft but I am working hard to get there.

Why I did it

I wanted to make movie video just like the original except with my spin/remix on it. I want to make sure that people feel like they are watching a real movie.

Today I worked on selecting the video clips that I wanted to include in my project. There were a total of about 10 different clips form Finding Nemo that I wanted to include. All of the clips are still rough and I need to work on editing them.

Why I did it

It is important to have the right clips selected for my project. Since I am remixing a movie it is important to select the right clips and make sure that everything flows together.

So far for my project I have decided that I am going to make a short video. If I run into problems with that, then I will go back to using screen shots with captions. I have done my best to find the different clips from the film that I want to use. Today I am going to make a timeline of events that I want to complete for this project.
