Well, it is to me.

Anywho, new semester, new goals. I’m graduating this year, and I have every intention of finding a good job that allows me all sorts of things. Mainly, the ability to gain experience in my field and stay close to my boyfriend. Yes, I understand that I’m a little young to be making decisions based on a significant other, but, well. That’s what I’m doing. It’s not the entire decision making process, but it’s part of it.

Also, I need to get my writing under control. I do so little of it, these days, and I’d like to improve on all fronts. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ll probably feed myself based on my ability to write. Thus, I must practice.

And look at that. I have a blog just waiting for some entries.

To anyone who may have followed my blog for more from my Writing and Digital Media class, there will be no more. There may be a chance that I will write about my experiences in my Creating Content for the Web, but that’s as close as I will get.

It… It’s done. It’s not exactly what I envisioned, but I’m ok with that. I put off posting this, partly because I forgot to upload a post for last Wednesday, and partly because I really wasn’t sure exactly what to say. But now. Now I’m done. It was mostly about putting everything together the way I wanted it to flow. Yes, I nixed a few ideas, mainly putting a torn edge on the article images, but I realized: scissors. My journalist probably used scissors. That, and I couldn’t get anything to load properly on my computer. Either way. It’s done.

Today mostly concentrated on what I needed to get done, as I didn’t have much to show people. Everything I’ve got is in Word Document form, which isn’t impressive. However, by the end of the day, I have already put together my Prezi (with nothing actually in it yet, but it’s getting there. Also, I’ve made an awful lot of progress on the big pieces. So basically the plan is the keep going with what I’ve got. Chipping away. At my soul….. Nevermind.

Have begun compiling notes for articles and some of the pieces of evidence I’ll be needing.

Why I did it…

I have many articles that I need to have ready to format every soon. Formatting is always one of the most time consuming parts, so I’m probably going to have to write the majority of these articles outside of class. My pace needs to be quick.

What I need to do next…

Finish these articles so I can start figuring out pictures or documents I’ll to go with them. I’m not creating an entire newspaper, only the articles, so I’ll have to figure out how much I want to include. After all, maybe my journalist doesn’t like pictures.

What I did

Today I worked some more on my version of a story board. Because my project is basically a set of articles with some other pieces thrown in, I organized it all as an outline, which i typed up so that I can move things around, add pieces, and make notes.

Here it is, all ready for your perusal.

I have also begun drafting several articles, including the obituary. I’m still trying to figure out what names and personal information I want to use, however, which is quite distracting.

Why I did it

Every story needs a good outline, and mine could get complicated very fast. It isn’t coming together quite like I thought it would, and I need to reconcile my vision with my reality. I always planned on the obituary, inheritance questioning, and society articles, but I wanted to make the Cinderella aspect a little less of the star. That isn’t happening quite like I planned. I need to figure out where I’m going after the Ball article.

Well, today was a difficult day. I wasn’t focused, both because of the weather, my plans for the day, and the talk of dining hall food. However, I did get stuff done.

Mostly, I’m just trying to put everything in order, and figure out which articles would tell the story that I need.

November 19 – Drafts done; ready for peer review
