Since the last time class met, I have accomplished a lot. I have secured the actors who will be playing the parts of witness and scientist in my news cast, and I have picked up my gear from the innovation space to shoot the news cast. I rented a tripod and a camera to complete the filming portion of the newscast. I have finalized the script and am ready to begin filming. I will film today, edit tomorrow, and present on Wednesday.

What I did today:

Today I added more to my script and brainstormed ways to lay it out on the page. The main chunk of my project will be the video news report, but I also think that adding additional elements to the page could be useful. One thing I’m considering doing is making a google map with pins that point to spider-man sitings around campus. Another thing I’m thinking about doing is adding a screenshot of spider-man’s tweets. They will be various funny statements about his doings around campus.

Revision Plan:

My group members really liked my script and my ideas. I haven’t been able to shoot the actual video yet so they didn’t have much to say in terms of execution. They said if it all comes together like I explained, it will be an entertaining project. They said make sure to get good shots and edit it well.

Since my last post, I have been working on the script for my video. I have included a copy of the script and the scenes to go with it below. The script isn’t 100% final but it is a good indicator of what I’m hoping to accomplish in my video. It’s a good representation of what my video will include and the plot I’m hoping to use.

What I’ve done:

I’ve begun to plan out my storyline for project 3. I’ve also written down all the things I need to gather to make the video.

I need to:

Check out video equipment from innovation space
Write the storyline including: the news report and witness statements
Film myself giving the news report
Record the audio for voiceovers
Film the scenes to cut to including: Burruss Hall, the pylons, the drillfield, students crossing the crosswalk, and the witnesses giving their statements (one eye-witness standing in front of a building and one OSCORP scientist talking about the missing super spider)
Draw an amateur sketch of spider-man
Edit the video together using adobe premiere

F, 11/7: Research and begin to write the storyline.
M, 11/10: Mock-up, Storyboard, and/or Outline.
- Have a concrete idea in place for an outline.
W 11/12: Storyboard/mock-up complete
- Have a list of every shot, image, scene that I need to include in my video
F 11/14: Start working towards gathering those shots and images
- Work on the weekend to do any shoots for the video
M, 11/17: Presentation Sign-up.
- Start editing together the video
W, 11/19: Rough Cut for Peer Feedback; Project 3 Revision Plan.
- Use the feedback to make improvements on the current edition
F, 11/21: Selfie showing yourself at work.
- Add in the extra graphics to the video and finalize it
W, F, M, W, 12/3–12/10: In-class Presentations.
W, 12/10: Project Due by 11:55 PM.

What I’ve done since Monday:

I haven’t done too much since Monday, but I have been thinking about the story I have chosen. I’m trying to think of ways to remix the story of Spider-Man. It’s a pretty straight forward story with not much wiggle room, so I’m trying to think of ways to make it my own and entertaining. I’m thinking of doing a news cast about Spider-Man sightings and his stories, as well as using twitter to tweet like I’m Spider-Man.
